Dell Latitude D820 Battery
Basic version. In addition to the recognized and versions Inspiron XPS, Dell Latitude series also offers business but also for home users. The notebooks in this series are characterized by special security arrangements and robust chassis made of magnesium. This should make the notebook work hard reliable business. When transporting the laptop, robust casing is evident. The base unit except the area in the middle, above the keyboard, you can really withstand much pressure and is hard to shift forces. Once in a while we heard cracking noises, but in the end you can ignore them. The chassis is made from a magnesium alloy type, and covers the top side are made of plastic. The magnesium cover of the screen is also very robust and somewhat resembles the design of a shell, which on one hand improves the bending rigid screen, and on the other hand, the stability of the closed laptop. The design of the Dell Latitude D820 is not really similar to the lines and forms used in the Inspiron series. A remarkable difference is the large angular geometric design of the Latitude, but mostly black and gray colors used. Despite the very high quality materials, the Latitude was able to convince us not to touch on its surface. The laptop left a small gray mark on this matter. The screen is held only limited by two relatively large hinges, a slight swing is possible here. In order to ensure a good state, the notebook comes with a central hook, which is unable to overcome a wobble. However, it is comfortable in use. Dell Typically, many of the interfaces are in the rear. This keeps the two sides free, and helps avoid "spaghetti of wires," which could limit the area of operation of a mouse, even if many of the ports are in use. The Latitude D820 keyboard seems clear and is generally well structured. The size of the keys is correct. The laptop has eg an enter key, which extends over two rounds and function keys of adequate size. The block cursor is a little separated from the other keys and therefore it is easy to use. Typing with this keyboard is comfortable with everything. The touch screen is also comfortable in use. Both of the buttons is a suitable elevation, however the surface wobbles slightly. In addition to a touch screen, the D820 also comes with a track point, which is a plastic cover so little ergonomic. More rounded with fewer large bumps would have been better. The laptop came with an analyzed standard non-reflective widescreen 15-inch at 1280x800. In addition to this version, you can also choose between two other screens, a WSXGA + panel with a resolution of 1680x1050 and at 1920x1200 WUXGA. When you go to choose the appropriate screen, you have to sacrifice one thing for another, including font size and general vision. More details on this subject can be found in our article on Screen DPI-Finesse. The color chart represents a curve nearly ideal red and green and the usual deviation from the curve of the blue. Therefore, the colors seem warmer. The screen can be used outdoors because of its smooth surface. However, in very bright environments, the exhibition of the content seems to be more black. Because of its moderate brightness, and contrast decreases. The vertical visual stability is not really a strong point of this laptop. Example, you can not only observe a loss in contrast, but also in large changes in color, if you look from top to bottom. Looking from the bottom to the top, the display clearly darkens and the gray levels clearly change. Horizontally, the area of operation is more than adequate. The Dell Latitude D820 comes with a variety of high-performance Intel Core 2 Duo. A T23000E with 1.6 GHz up to more powerful and updated processor T7600 with 2.3 GHz are possible. The reviewed notebook was equipped with a T7200 CPU, which comes along with video resolution Intel GMA 950, a rather passable solution for office applications. This equipment as well as using office applications, it is also suitable for Internet and Windows Vista. If you run 3D programs, you should consider choosing one of the options available graphics cards from Nvidia Quadro NVS 110M/120M, whose performance is comparable to a Geforce 7300/7400. The laptop was equipped with a 80GB hard drive 5400 revolutions made by Fujitsu. The test light reveals average values for transfer rates, but also greater access time of 20.8ms. More information about video cards can be found here (Nvidia Quadro NVS 120M 110M/NVS, Intel GMA 950) and in our Comparison of Mobile Graphics Cards. Please also made any look at our list of tests of mobile processors, and our list of tests mobile video cards, in order to compare this notebook to other configurations. The Dell Latitude in the version of the analysis is pleasant, very quiet. In quiet mode, or while using a non-demanding Office application, the fan runs continuously to its lowest level, and the handset emits very little noise in the environment. Not until the fan starts to run faster, yet the sound is pretty decent laptop with a high of 37.2 dB. Evaluated not only the noise, also the surface temperature was always good. On top we measured a maximum of 32.7 ° C, and at the bottom of 41.4 ° C. The D820's speakers are on the left and right side of the keyboard. The sound is quite clear and therefore more or less good for playing music or background music while working. The Dell Latitude D820 tested was equipped with a 85Wh battery (7600Mah), which ensures an excellent time duration thereof. Example, under load can work for about two hours, and little demand with up to 5.5 hours. Therefore, nothing gets in the way of a disconnected mobile use. ..
